Despite some rain and last minute adjustments by Mallory and her team at Moores Mill Club, the ceremony and reception for Alison and Travis Creel was a beautiful affair and memorable start to a new life together! Tim Chambliss provided premium sound and wireless microphone configurations for the ceremony. Brides and parents planning outdoor or indoor wedding ceremonies (but especially outdoor events) should remember that at a minimum, the preacher or officiant for the ceremony should be mic'd with a good quality wireless lapel mic so that every guest can hear the special messages, prayers and scripture given during the ceremony. It's important to plan ahead for sound reinforcement and have a qualified technician on hand for set, testing and management during the event. As always, Kidd Blue provided a clean crisp stage set up so as not to interfere with the bride's design and theme inside of the reception. Over-bearing stage set-ups can clash with the look and feel of the reception design, so be cautious when hiring your wedding reception band. Best wishes to Alison and Travis and their new life together! Thanks for including Kidd Blue in the festivities!

Blustery skies and a little bit of drizzle didn't keep the Auburn faithful away. A crowd of 70,645 (AU's second largest A-Day gathering in history) braved the elements and still had an AUsome time. Kidd Blue, The Band That Rocked The Final Roll, was on hand to entertain the large gathering at the green just outside of the stadium. We enjoyed seeing lots of friends and family who stopped by to sing along and say "hi." We had the full 7-piece ensemble on hand for R&B, Soul, serious rock and some new surprises. Like the band on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for updates on your next chance to see Kidd Blue in action!
If you missed Kidd Blue at Callaway Gardens for New Year's Eve you missed some great food, music and fun! The ballroom was decorated beautifully, with added lighting and drape - new for the 2013 celebration. The band performed an excellent repertoire of classic jazz standards throughout dinner. Some guests could not wait until dinner was over to begin the dancing. Once dinner was over, guests crowded the dance floor and never looked back into 2012. The band played an excellent mix of old soul, R&B, rock and 80s music that kept the floor full all night. There was an excellent mix of slow music, dance favorites and "Auld Lang Syne" at midnight as everyone enjoyed a champagne toast. For a fun and experienced event band for your next party, ball, wedding or conference, contact Kidd Blue. You'll love the Kidd's enthusiasm and crowd engagement plus the band's eclectic mix of dance favorites. There are dozens of kinds of music today, but which one is right for your special day? While a bride and groom may have their own preference to music, it might not always be appropriate for a wedding reception. Choosing a band that can play a mix of different types of music will ensure that everyone is happy and has a great time dancing at your wedding reception. Here is a quick guide to the do’s and don’ts of picking the best music for wedding receptions. Jazz – Traditional jazz is an excellent option for the beginning of the evening. Classic jazz standards provide a comfortable background for dining and fellowship when guests first arrive at your reception. Consider keeping the music instrumental at this point in the evening to allow guests to warm up to the evening.
Country – Whether you love it or hate it, a little bit of country music may be the ticket at your reception. Many modern artists cross the line between twang and pop culture to provide a non-offensive song which creates a great beat for dancing without being overpowering for those who are just enjoying conversation and dining. Oldies – Many of your older guests will appreciate some classics from the 50s and 60s like Stand By Me, Knock On Wood, The Midnight Hour and other favorites. Make sure your reception band is well versed in these types of songs. Wedding Favorites – There are many timeless classics that are perfect for weddings. These include the dancing songs like Electric Slide, Twist and Shout, and Mustang Sally as well as classic love songs such as Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, Wonderful Tonight and Let’s Get It On. and Truly, Madly, Deeply. You can always count on songs like Play That Funky Music, Brick House and Brown Eyed Girl to get and keep your guests on the dance floor. 70s and 80s – Some of the best dance floor songs come from this era and you can always expect your guests to hit the floor when they hear numbers like Old Time Rock and Roll, 867-5309 (Jenny), Roller Coaster of Love and Rapper’s Delight. As your reception goes on into the evening, you’ll probably see some dance moves from many of your relatives that you never would have expected. Just remember, the best music for wedding receptions should have a little bit of everything so that all the generations enjoying your special day can sing along, dance and listen through a wonderful evening. Kidd Blue offers an eclectic mix of music that is certain to please all of your guests on your big day. Contact Kidd Blue online at www.kiddblue.com. |
